Facebook focusing on authentic and timely content

Facebook is updating their alogrithm to focus on more authentic and timely content. Is this going to make your News Feed user experience more relevant? Most likely it will, rather than pages just pushing information out, sometimes over and over again hoping it will show in your News Feed, sources will need to focus on true and authentic content. If you have been using the “Hide” feature in your News Feed that will help Facebook sort through the irrelevant content. Facebook is using this as a step in the direction of competing with Twitter when it comes to breaking news. The more interactions with a news story, the more likely it will show higher in your News Feed.
Wouldn’t it be nice if Facebook would provide the capability to users to rank what types of post they like to see and use our own determined preferences for our News Feed rather than them deciding for us?
