Promoting on Facebook – Should you pay (boost) or do it manually?

I finally had the opportunity to compare the impact of what I do for clients to a computer assisted publishing of a Facebook post.  The stats confirmed what I had predicted.  A paid for boosted post is not going to have the same type of reach as a post which is purposefully shared and placed strategically across the platform.  While the boosted post was placed at 11:30 am which is not an ideal time for publication, the post which I manually placed already has a 4X reach as the boosted post.  What it boils down to is that boosted posts may be easier and quicker, but it does not replace human connections to know where your audience really is and how they will react and engage with your posts.
